Every photographer will recognize the feeling: you have an important story you want to show; you've put all your energy, time and creativity into the shoot and you've ended up with a huge quantity of photographs. But is it a story? Who will understand it? How will people appreciate it? In this one-day workshop you'll learn how to shape a story from a mass of images and how to make it work for your audience.
In this one day editing workshop given by photo-editor/photo curator Magdalena Herrera (FR) you will work on transforming your shoot into a coherent and compelling story that will engage with your audience.
With a group of max 8 photographers we will look at the selection, discuss the best suited platform: publication, exhibition, on-line presentation, photobook) and see how you can achieve best the impact you desire with your story.
You will work on your own story, but also participate in giving feedback to the work of other participants. Participants should bring a laptop, and a minimum of 25 - max. 60 photographs to work with. The images should be available as both digital files and in printed form (approx 10 x 15 cm).
Magdalena Herrera is an internationally experienced photo-editor and educator with expertise in magazine and book publications, photo-exhibition with a special focus on documentary photography and visual storytelling.
